The Coronavirus has kept the majority of the world’s population confined to their houses, and you might think that would mean no more new fashion trends, right? Well, regardless of the Coronavirus, this year’s fashion trends are still changing. They are just changing in ways many would never have thought of.

Nowadays, every time people have to leave their house they are required to wear face masks so that they can help stop the spread of the virus. While wearing a face mask is necessary, it is now becoming a new fashion statement. People now coordinate their outfits to match their face masks, and this trend has even led many people to make their own.

However, many people do not leave their homes. Students, for the most part, now only have one way to show off their clothes, and that is over Zoom. After over a month of online school, it is not hard to tell that many students are dressing comfortably rather than wearing something more extravagant. This Zoom look will usually include hoodies and oversized shirts.

If people are lucky enough to step outside during this fall season, one might see this new popular style: Skater style. Skater style is a type of streetwear that is associated with casual clothes such as graphic tees, hats/beanies, wide-leg pants, hoodies, and Vans.

Another kind of streetwear that has become popular during this pandemic is Techwear. This ultra-modern style has grown in popularity, slowly but surely in the past couple of years. It is known for its dark colors and functional clothes, such as cargo pants and military vests, but with elegant twists from designers such as belts and patterns.

High fashion, another kind of streetwear, has risen in popularity this fall season. This style is inspired and promoted heavily by popular hip-hop artists. Clothes that are related to this style usually include anything with designer logos on them, and the classics of streetwear, such as sweatpants, graphic tees, and sneakers.

Along the “cuter” side of popular streetwear this fall is the Soft style of clothes. This style usually favors lighter colors as well as shirts that have cute designs/patterns or flowers on them. The clothes that this style is based on are clean-cut and frequently include dresses.

Whether your fashion style is Skater, Techwear, High fashion, or Soft, there are many exciting new choices in fashion this fall. You can even top off your look with a coordinating face mask to make a fashion statement that is just right for you.
