It’s December, the holidays are around the corner. Unfortunately, the coronavirus is stopping us from enjoying the time we’re supposed to be spending with family and friends and the people outside of your household. Just because there is a virus going on doesn’t mean you can’t have fun in your own homes. There are a bunch of activities to do while you are sitting at home, possibly bored.
First things first, put up those decorations! Decorating your home with lights, garland, stockings, and so on will put you in the holiday spirit. While putting up decorations, have some cookies baking in the oven, so when they're ready you will be able to decorate them afterward. You can also get a gingerbread house kit from the local grocery store to assemble and decorate as well.
A way to get together with your family without getting together is hosting a Zoom game night. You can find nearly any online free version of a game, such as card games like Pictionary, Bingo, or even Monopoly. This makes it more engaging for the whole family to join in and to have fun with each other.
Snuggling up with a mug full of hot chocolate and watching Christmas movies is one of the best ways to get into the holiday spirit. A few of the greatest Christmas movies to watch are Home Alone, The Grinch (How the Grinch Stole Christmas), The Polar Express, Elf, A Christmas Carol, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and the list goes on.
In the evening, you could also go for a Christmas lights drive to look at the decorations the neighbors in your area have put up. Going for a drive is safer right now and less cold than usual!
Whether you're staying in, decorating the house, baking cookies, or eating tasty treats while watching a movie, staying home this holiday season is very important to everyone, so make sure to make the most of it!
