Five... Four... Three... Two... One! Happy New Year! Everyone begins sharing a kiss and a hug, while pure happiness plasters all over our TV screens, but because of this global pandemic, it’s going to be a little different transitioning into 2021. The big question people are still continuing to ask is, “Will there still be a ball drop in New York?”

As recently announced, the streets will be closed off to prevent social gatherings, but actor Jonathan Bennet will be hosting the New Year's Eve celebration in Times Square. Bennet is determined to provide a 2-hour live, commercial-free broadcast of the ball drop and entertaining events leading up to the big moment we are all waiting for. The moment in which we realize we made it through all the ups and downs of 2020, and that we know to appreciate life a little more and not take it for granted all the time. Pre-recorded musical performances by some of your favorite celebrities will be aired, as well as hourly countdowns, most likely on the following channels, Fox, ABC, and NBC. If you’re planning on watching it from your phone or live online, TimesSquareBall.net or NewYearseve.nyc and social media platforms like Youtube, Twitter, and Facebook will be providing plenty of live streams.

Other than the fun show to look forward to, many Zoom calls and FaceTimes will take place that night too. To keep the family safe from one another, we can all come together in our living rooms, just like usual, but virtually. I think all of us are hoping next year is at least a bit better than this one. It will truly be a night to remember. Happy New Year!
